Making a Difference
Christianity does not involve humankind’s attempt to reach God, but rather God’s attempt to reach us – His creation. This is why Christians do not see Christianity as a ‘Religion’. Christianity is about having a personal relationship with God, our Heavenly Father, made possible by inviting Jesus (God's Son) into our lives (see mediator).
However, sticking with the word 'Religion' for now, as that is how the world (people) view Christianity, let's look at what the Bible tells us about 'Christian Religion'.
The Bible tells us in James 1:27 that the 'Religion' that God our Heavenly Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: '...to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.'
So we clearly see that the 'Christian Religion' is about making a difference in the world, by seeing others and their needs and meeting those needs.
The other thing is that Christians need to separate themselves from the world. This means that Christians must avoid all things that we know God, our 'Heavenly Father' would not like us to get mixed up with, otherwise, we will become (polluted) conformed to this world.
